My values in doing this work are: accountability, consent, honesty, humor, and creating safety. I’m really interested in helping you integrate both your mind’s experiences and your body’s experiences to lead to greater wellbeing and feeling like you are living as your true self. I approach taboo subjects non-judgmentally and will support you in exploring these areas.
Office Location:
I see clients in person at 1420 Walnut Street, Suite 1209, Philadelphia, PA 19102 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I use telehealth the rest of the time.
I have worked with people of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds, physical health and disability status, gender identities, sexual orientations, diverse relationship models, education, class, national origin, veteran status, profession, and age.
I’m bicultural, French-American, and am bilingual in French. I moved to this country when I was a preteen (but I do not have a French accent). I became a psychotherapist later in life, after careers in nonprofits, startups, and financial companies. Raised Catholic by Buddhist monks, with Jewish and Quaker heritage, I’m open to those with spiritual beliefs as well as atheists.
We all grow up, not only in our families, but also in our neighborhoods, our religious contexts, within a particular media culture, managing social media, and subject to each era’s prejudices and joys. I care about social justice and I care about your unique mix of identities and the many different influences that helped shape who you became: your ethnic, racial, and cultural identities, your body’s joys and challenges, your evolving gender identity, your sex assigned at birth, your sexual orientation and experiences, your family’s functioning, and your history with friends, peers, partners, and coworkers. We’ll explore areas where you may have struggled, and what qualities, passions, and people have helped you endure and be resilient.
I particularly wish to welcome those who may not have felt welcome or comfortable in therapeutic settings: the global majority, those with LGBTQIA+ identities, and immigrants. Check out my profile on Psychology Today. I use She/Her pronouns.
I’m a feminist psychotherapist and a clinical social worker. This approach means that I care about having a collaborative therapeutic relationship, working with strengths and acknowledging the impact of the social context. Of course, those who identify as male or masculine are welcome!
