Medicaid and No Insurance:
Medicaid and Medicare are accepted at community mental health centers, and many centers take people with no insurance. This is a partial list. Community mental health includes: JFK Behavioral, Merakey, NET, The Consortium and COMHAR among others. These are all overseen by Community Behavioral Health in Philadelphia. To find out what Community Behavioral Health (CBH) centers are near you and accepting new clients, you can call the CBH member services number: 888-545-2600, open 24 hours a day.

Sliding Scale, Free Therapy, & Peer to Peer Resources:
A Home Within offers free therapy to those who are or have been in foster or kinship care.

Black Men Heal offers 8 free sessions.

Drexel Psychological Services Center provides sliding scale therapy based on income.

Hispanic Community Counseling Services offers free therapy in North Philadelphia including to undocumented folks. Jewish Family and Children’s Services. JFCS provides a holistic approach to the mental health needs of children, families, and individuals in the Greater Philadelphia area. Sliding scale therapy.

LiveWell Foundation provides free peer to peer depression support. Note: These are not licensed professionals.

Mango Tree LLC wants to support Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander’s (AANHPIs) and their communities. They offer sliding scale therapy based on income. They operate out of the William Way Community Center.

Mazzoni Center Behavioral Health provides services for LGBTQIA+ folks and accepts many insurances and provides sliding scale or free care depending on income and household size.

NAMI Philadelphia has a long list of local resources and peer to peer groups for mental health support.

OpenPath Collective offers sliding scale therapy from $40-$70, $30 for students. it is a national organization.

Unity Recovery offers free peer to peer recovery services for those in recovery. Note: These are not licensed professionals.

William Way Community Center for LGBTQIA+ folks offers free peer to peer counseling. Note: These are not licensed professionals.
